Police Crackdown on Drug Trade
Katihar police have conducted a raid against the growing menace of narcotics, resulting in the arrest of a prominent drug peddler. The raid has yielded a substantial seizure of narcotics, cash, and weapons.
Acting on a confidential tip-off, the Katihar Nagar Thana police swung into action, responding to information regarding a large-scale drug operation being conducted in Naya Tola. The tip suggested that Vishal Mandal, a notorious figure in the illicit drug trade, was utilizing his residence to conduct illegal drug sales. The police organized a raid to apprehend the suspect and put an end to his nefarious activities.

Seizure of Narcotics and Contraband
During the executed raid, the Katihar police discovered a significant cache of narcotics and intoxicating substances. Among the seized items were various drugs, including a substantial quantity of smack, with an estimated street value. In addition to the narcotics, the police also recovered ₹13,000 in cash, drug paraphernalia, two Android mobile phones, a file containing incriminating evidence of drug consumption, and a gas lighter.
Police Superintendent Jitendra Kumar expressed deep satisfaction with the arrest of Vishal Mandal, a key player in the illegal drug trade, he said “the source of such intoxicating substances is confidential which cannot be disclosed due to investigative purpose”.
Vishal Mandal, the apprehended drug peddler, will face legal proceedings as he is presented before the court. The evidence seized during the raid will play a pivotal role in building a strong case against the accused.
